Shaken Bond fans stirred into action
The name's Craig, Daniel Craig, and Bond fans are giving him the Goldfinger.
Disgruntled Bondies have set up a website Craignotbond in a bid to persuade millions of people around the world to boycott the forthcoming Casino Royale film.
On it they say: 'How can a short, blond actor with the rough face of a professional boxer and a penchant for playing killers, cranks, cads and gigolos pull off the role of a tall, dark, handsome and suave secret agent?'
Support for Craig, has come from a rather unlikely corner with Christopher Lee, who played Bond villain Scaramanga in The Man With The Golden Gun, telling people not to pass judgement until they have seen the film.
Meanwhile over at Craignotbond they have identified and listed the email for all the major executives at Sony Pictures, MGM, United Artists, as well as for The National Theater Owners Association (USA) and are urging fans to deluge the decision makers with emails protesting about the decision to cast Daniel as Bond.
The site even helpfully suggest the body of the email which begins: "I writing to inform you of my terrible distress over your decision to replace Pierce Brosnan with such an unknown and unattractive actor as Daniel Craig, because Craig clearly has the wrong looks to play the role of Bond."
It all sounds to us suspiciously like a well managed PR stunt to get maximum publicity for the forthcoming film and we say just live and let live or rather Live and Let Die.
